One teenager is dead and three others are injured after a collision involving a car and a transport truck in Brampton, Ont., early this morning, a Peel Regional Police spokesman confirmed.

The deadly crash around 1:35 a.m. ET occurred on Airport Road near Lacoste Road, Const. Thomas Ruttan told CBC News.

Fire crews cut off the roof of the car to get two of the passengers out, media reported earlier.

Two of the teens in the car were taken to Brampton Civic Hospital and the other two were taken to a trauma centre, Ruttan said.

He added that the teen died in hospital, and another teen remains in the trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the transport truck didn't receive any injuries that required medical attention, Ruttan added.

Ruttan said the families of the four teens have been notified, but their names won't be released until sometime this weekend.

In the meantime, police are looking for any witnesses to the accident, and asking them to call Peel police's major collision bureau at 905-453-3311, ex. 3710.
