Boys tried to sell woman grass they claimed was pot
Barrie police say attempted sale failed, woman called authorities
Barrie police say a group of school-age boys tried to get a woman to buy grass from them, though they claimed it was marijuana.
Police say a woman was walking near Bayfield and Coulter streets in Barrie, when she was approached by three young males at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
The boys asked her if she wanted to buy marijuana from them. She refused and called the police.
Police responded and caught up with the boys who approached the woman, along with a fourth male. The boys were 8, 10, 12 and 13 years old respectively.
After determining that the boys had been trying to sell "common grass," police cautioned them for "trafficking in a substance held out to be a narcotic."
Police say the boys were taken to their respective homes.
