Boy, 12, suffers life-threatening injuries in collision
A 12-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being struck by a car in Scarborough.
The incident at Danforth Road and Linden Avenue happened just before 4 p.m. when the boy got off a TTC bus, stepped in front of it to cross the street, and was struck by a car.
"I heard the sound. I thought it was two cars but it wasn't," area resident Billy Maltezas told CBC News. "I popped out and just saw the kid laying there."
The boy was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The collision is under investigation.
"Somebody made a mistake. Whether it's the child or the driver of the motor vehicle we are working to determine that," said Const. Clint Stibbe of Toronto Police Service.
