Boxing Day homicide victim identified by police
East-end killing is Toronto's 56th homicide of the year
The victim of a Boxing Day killing has been identified by police as 64-year-old To Nu Hua, also known as "Sandy" in English, of Toronto.
Police say they were called to 80 Alton Towers Circle, near Steeles Avenue and McCowan Road, at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday for "unknown trouble." They found the woman in an apartment "with obvious signs of trauma," and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbours said she lived alone in the unit.
Patrick Wai Leung Lee, 62, of Toronto, was arrested on Monday. He has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.
