Arrest expected Tuesday in fatal hit-and-run
31-year-old victim had celebrated his birthday the day before he was killed
Toronto Police say a suspect has been located and an arrest is expected Tuesday in the hit-and-run collision that killed a 31-year-old pedestrian Saturday morning.
The victim had entered the westbound lanes on St. Clair Avenue West, west of Symes Road, when he was struck by a grey minivan around 5 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
The driver fled the scene and the minivan was later found near Dixon Road and Highway 27. The pedestrian celebrated his 31st birthday on August 29, the day before he was killed.
Alcohol was likely not a factor in this collision, police say.
