Police said the victim, an 87-year-old man whose identity hasn't been released, was shot dead inside a home around 5:06 p.m. on Playfair Avenue near Caledonia Road. Police said there were multiple people in the area at the time, but nobody else was injured.

At 11 p.m., police held a news conference to announce Domenico Scopelliti is wanted for first-degree murder. Police said they believe he fled the area in a black 2010 Dodge Caravan with the license plate ARVZ 950.

Police urged Scopelliti to contact a laywer and turn himself in.

Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach, but call 911 immediately.

Scopelliti is described as a white male, standing about six feet tall with a heavy build and grey hair. Earlier, police warned he may be carrying a rifle.

Paramedics said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators haven't said what the relationship between the two men is.
