Toronto police say a boy who went missing after boarding a yellow school bus this morning has been found.

Const. Wendy Drummond told CBC Radio’s Here and Now that it appears four-year-old Angelo Epassa ended up spending the day at the wrong school. The reasons for that mixup are still being determined.

The boy’s father, Yannick Epassa, said he was greatly relieved to learn his son was OK.

"He spent the whole day at the school — at the wrong school — and they didn’t even call or anything," he told reporters on Monday afternoon.

On Monday afternoon, police issued a news release saying that Angelo was missing after last being seen boarding a school bus in the Humberwood Boulevard and Kingsplate Crescent area at 8:15 a.m.

The incident occurred on a day when the temperature was slowly falling in Toronto, falling to about –9 C by late afternoon. The city is also under a wind chill warning.
