Six people were hurt in a crash outside Caledon Village on Thursday morning, which involved a white Chrysler minivan and a transport truck.

The collision occurred at Charleston Sideroad and Heart Lake Road. Paramedics were called to the scene at 11:42 a.m.

An Ornge air ambulance spokesperson said that two air ambulances had initially been dispatched after the crash, but one was called off.

Conflicting information came in about the number of patients involved in the collision, though a Peel EMS spokesperson told CBC News that six people were hurt, including one person who was airlifted to a Toronto hospital. The remaining five patients were taken to local hospitals with minor and non-life threatening injuries.

OPP Const. Brenda Evans said the male driver of the minivan was the individual who had been flown to Toronto. He later underwent surgery.

Evans said there were two toddlers in the van at the time of the crash, though she could not provide any of the victims' ages.

Evans said that the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
