A third male was taken to Etobicoke General Hospital and later transferred to Sunnybrook with a leg wound.

Sgt. Dion Monahar told CBC News that the victims were "approached by a number of suspects" who opened fire.

Monahar said "a significant number" of shots were fired.

Those suspects were last seen heading northbound, away from the scene.

Not much is known about why the victims were shot.

"I don't have a definitive motive for this shooting at this time," Monahar said.

The shooting happened on a Toronto Community Housing property. Monahar said that police would be reviewing all available surveillance video.
