Firefighters were called to the scene at 1991 Wilson Ave. shortly after 2 p.m.

Shortly after they arrived, firefighters reported that the shop fire was "fully involved."

The building was evacuated. No injuries were reported initially.

Toronto Fire Services subsequently tweeted that the fire had gone through the roof of the building and a wall had collapsed.

Shortly before 4 p.m., a further tweet from the service indicated the fire was under control.

The TTC was diverting its 96 Wilson and 165 Weston buses as a result of the fire.

Toronto police reported that traffic was slowing along Highway 401 as people took a look at the fire.
