Fire crews are battling a difficult three-alarm blaze at a paper manufacturing firm in Toronto’s west end.

Toronto Fire Services was called to Norampac Inc. at 450 Evans Ave., near Kipling Avenue and the Gardiner Expressway, at 10:42 a.m. on Friday when an off-duty firefighter spotted some white smoke.

Nine trucks and 35 firefighters were on the scene shortly after noon.

No injuries have been reported. But fire crews are concerned about rolls of paper on the scene which, if wet, could collapse and pose a hazard.
