2 trapped after van, car collide at Danforth/Birchmount
A van and another vehicle collided at Danforth Avenue and Birchmount Road, leaving two people trapped inside, Toronto police say.
The call came in to police at 3:24 p.m. The collision left one vehicle sitting on its side.
A Toronto EMS spokesperson told CBC News that two people are still trapped following the collision and firefighters were working to free them.
Motorcyclist, pedestrian hurt in earlier collisions
The later afternoon crash followed two prior collisions that police investigated earlier in the day.
A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after a collision at Bloor Street West and Dufferin Street late on Thursday morning.
Police say that they were called to the scene shortly after 11 a.m.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries. He was unconscious and bleeding when transported to hospital, police say.
Earlier in the morning, a teenage male was struck by a vehicle at York Mills Road and Sandover Drive.
The male was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
York Mills Road was closed in both directions for about two hours as police investigated the collision.
