2 men charged after victim dies in hospital of head trauma
Osman Awad, 24, was taken to hospital last week with 'obvious head trauma'
Two men have been charged with second-degree murder after a man with life-threatening head injuries died in hospital earlier this week.
Police responded to a call on Jan. 11 at approximately 11:30 p.m. regarding a man who had fallen in front of 1523 Birchmount Rd, near Ellesmere and Kennedy roads.
Police said the man, identified as 24-year-old Osman Awad, had "obvious head injuries" and he was transported to hospital were he died on Tuesday.
An investigation found that Awad had allegedly been assaulted by two men, police said, noting that an autopsy revealed the cause of death to be blunt-impact head trauma.
On Friday police upgraded charges against two men to second-degree murder.
Joey Dionne, 20, and Justin Dionne, 19, have both been charged and appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East earlier today.
