Toronto police are investigating the discovery of two males found dead in the parking garage of a building located near Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue on Monday afternoon.
Police say they responded to a call just before 4 p.m. ET and found the bodies in the stairwell of a building at 325 Bogert Ave.
Const. Tony Vella told CBC News the homicide squad attended the scene after the bodies were found.
"They located two men; they were pronounced dead at the scene," Vella said.
Hours later, Det. Sgt. Hank Idsinga of the homicide squad told reporters the two victims were young males, either in their late teens or early 20s.
The victims had "obvious gunshot wounds" when they were found in the stairwell, Idsinga said.
He said police have not yet identified the victims, adding that it appears the fatal attack on their lives was targeted.
Idsinga said police found shell casings at the scene that appeared to have come from a semi-automatic firearm.
Police are expected to remain at the scene throughout the night.
