2 hurt in Highway 401 collision involving at least 2 motorcycles
The Ontario Provincial Police say at least two motorcycles were involved in a serious crash in the eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 in Toronto on Monday evening.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt told CBC News that two people have been taken to hospital.
Schmidt said the eastbound express lanes have been closed at Warden Avenue, though the collision occurred closer to McCowan Road. The lanes are likely to remain closed until after midnight.
Schmidt said one male was taken to a trauma centre with serious injuries. A second person suffered less serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Paramedics say the man is in his mid-20s. He was in serious condition at the time of the incident.
