York Regional Police are investigating a collision that claimed a man’s life in Markham, Ont., on Sunday evening.

Acting Insp. Alice Tsang told CBC News that police were called to the scene of a two-car collision on Ninth Line, south of Elgin Mills Road at about 9:20 p.m.

Tsang said the drivers of the two vehicles survived the crash. They were both taken to hospital and were in stable condition as of late Sunday evening.

An adult male was killed in the crash.

Tsang said the road was likely to remain closed for several hours as a collision reconstruction team went over the scene.

The collision remains under investigation.
