A two-alarm fire at a semi-detached home in Mississauga claimed a man’s life on Monday night.

Ten trucks responded to the fire on Widemarr Road, near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Royal Windsor Drive.

Fire Chief Steve Toner told reporters that crews knocked the fire down from the exterior, before moving to the inside of the structure.

"One male victim was found. The age is undetermined at this time," Toner said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
