A road washout has occurred on the north portion of Onion Lake Road, a few kilometres north of the Kam-Current Road intersection.

The Ministry of Transportation sent a worker to the scene along with a backhoe and operator, but there is no indication when the road might be reopened.

In Shuniah, east of Thunder Bay, Lakeshore Drive has been closed near Charles Road because a culvert was compromised at that location.  The municipality said the road closure is expected to last until about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

For the latest information, the public can call 511, the MTO’s Road Information Line, to find out about current highway closures.
