A motorist faces charges after an incident that saw the tenants of a Thunder Bay apartment receive an unexpected early morning wakeup call.
A truck that had sped away from a police roadside check struck some cars and slammed into a house at Darwin Crescent and Beverly Street.
Resident Brad Dunville and his girlfriend were startled with "a boom that shook the whole house."
"We woke up at 2 a.m. to this," he said. "I couldn't get my heart rate down until about 5 a.m. … I've never experienced anything like that before ... to be waking up to … a vehicle coming into your living room."
City police have charged a 22-year-old man with impaired driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and dangerous driving.
There's significant structural damage to the house.
Neither Dunville nor his girlfriend were hurt during the incident.
