A fire that broke out at 211 Cumming Street early Friday morning is being investigated by police.

The Thunder Bay Fire Service was called to the south side fire at about 1:30 a.m.

Crews arrived to find the exterior of the front porch on fire, but were able to quickly knock it down.

The fire service said everyone in the home was able to get themselves out safely.

But the Thunder Bay Police say one person did suffer non-life threatening injuries and was sent to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Once the fire service was finished its operations, the scene was turned over to police for investigation.
