Thunder Bay OPP is bringing in a helicopter to help with the search for a 56-year-old Thunder Bay man who went missing June 14.

The man disappeared when he went boating on the Kaministiquia River in the area of Forbes River Road and Silver Falls Road.

Police searched the area on the Kaministiquia River, along with divers from the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, but to no avail.

The OPP says its Marine Unit has continued to conduct marine patrols but, because the river is currently very high and the water is quite murky, search efforts have been difficult.

The police helicopter is expected to arrive in Thunder Bay today and start an aerial search over the Kaministiquia River today and tomorrow.
