Thunder Bay man still detained after bail hearing

The man who police allege is the head of one of northwestern Ontario's most significant criminal organizations remains in custody after a bail hearing.

The man who police allege is the head of one of northwestern Ontario's most significant criminal organizations remains in detention following a bail hearing Friday.

John Harry Tsekouras hired a high-profile defence lawyer —  Eddie Greenspan — to represent him.

The 38-year-old Thunder Bay man was charged last month with being the director of a criminal organization, along with several drug trafficking offences.

Proceedings at the bail hearing are subject to a court-ordered publication ban.  The reasons for the decision on the bail application are also banned from publication.
