A 41-year-old man has been charged with possession of child pornography following an investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service's Computer Crime Unit.

Jason Repay faces the charge after city police began a peer-to-peer file sharing investigation in January.

Police executed a search warrant at a Bernard Street residence and seized a computer, flash drives and a number of DVDs last week.

Police said analysis of the seized items confirmed the existence of child pornography images. Jason Repay turned himself into police on Wednesday.

Police say Repay made an initial court appearance Thursday morning and has been released, with a court date set for May 9.
