Teenager charged in 'sexting' case
A 16-year-old boy from Kenora will appear in court later this month facing a charge of distributing child pornography.
Ontario Provincial Police said they were contacted earlier this week after sexually explicit images of a 17-year-old girl were found on an electronic device.
Police call it a case of 'sexting', when sexually-related text or images are sent from one mobile device to another.
Creating and sending nude photos of anyone under the age of 18 is considered child pornography, and is illegal under the Criminal Code.
The boy cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
