Teen cyclist has serious injuries after collision
A teenage cyclist remains in hospital following a collision Tuesday in Thunder Bay.
The 17-year-old boy was travelling east on Dunlop Street approaching Memorial Avenue at around 12:45 p.m., according to Thunder Bay Police.
Police said the teen did not stop at the stop sign and proceeded to make a wide right turn into oncoming traffic when he was hit by a car travelling south.
The cyclist, who also had headphones on at the time of the crash, according to police, was taken by ambulance to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with serious injuries.
The man driving the car was not hurt but police said his vehicle is badly damaged.
Thunder Bay Police said charges are pending.
