Thunder Bay police are searching for the man who robbed a cab driver early Saturday morning.

It happened near the intersection of Connolly Street and McIntosh Street in the city's east end.

Police describe the suspect as in his 20s, thin, with short dark wavy hair, and wearing a blue jean jacket, a red shirt and dark pants. He was last seen fleeing the area of Simpson Street on foot.

Police would not disclose the type of weapon used in the robbery, or the name of the cab company involved, but a manager at Roach's Yellow Taxi confirms it belonged to that company.

The driver of the taxi was not hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
