A man and a woman are facing robbery charges after attempting to hold up a gas bar with a syringe.

Thunder Bay police reported a 21-year-old woman entered the Shell gas bar in Kakabeka Fall on Highway 11-17 Monday evening. She demanded money and lottery tickets, but fled the scene when employees refused.

Police caught up to the woman and her 39-year-old alleged accomplice a short while later. They were arrested at a Can-Op gas bar on Oliver Road. They have both been charged with armed robbery.

The pair was expected to appear in court Tuesday.
