Thunder Bay Police have made an arrest in connection with a homicide on the city's north side last month.

Police have charged 20-year-old Mitchell Adam Soloman Suganaqueb with second degree murder in the death of 25 year-old Desmond Dennis Matthews.

Matthews was found dead in a home on Villa Street Dec. 29, 2012. Another 23-year-old man found at the scene remains in critical condition and has been transferred to a hospital in Toronto.

"The investigation is still ongoing, and it was through several information sources that led to the arrest," said acting detective inspector Don Lewis.

Suganaqueb was arrested at a bus stop on Academy Drive Wednesday afternoon. Lewis said he was apprehended without incident. The accused man is being held in the Thunder Bay district jail and is due back in court Jan. 21.
