A grocery store is returning to Thunder Bay's south core after being shut down last year.
The shelves are now being restocked with food in the former Quality Market store in Centennial Square.
Seeing the neighbourhood supermarket about to reopen is good news for Gianna Thompson works at a nearby hair salon. She's noticed the activity, and looks forward to the convenience of buying groceries next door.
"They're getting set up just to open,” Thompson said. “[This is] very good news for us. Now we don't have to go across town or anything else."
Employees of Renco Foods, which has a store on Court Street, said Renco will also be operating the new store in Centennial Square.
Quality Market closed last October after being in business in that location since 1988.
