A 35-year-old Thunder Bay man is in custody at the Thunder Bay district jail and charged with killing an animal.
Poice said they were called early Saturday to a south May street address to investigate a report that a cat had been deliberately killed.
They found a man covered in blood and a small black cat with its throat cut.
Witnesses to the incident called police immediately after the incident.
Police said alcohol was a factor.
