An 18-year-old man faces a murder charge in the death of Shannon Hogan.
Hogan was the victim of a violent assault in Thunder Bay. She was found in a north-side laneway last July.
After an extensive investigation, police report they charged the 18-year-old with second degree murder.
The man had been in custody on unrelated charges and was arrested Thursday while making an appearance at the provincial court.
Police cannot identify him because he was a youth at the time of the incident.
