A youth was taken to hospital in Thunder Bay on Friday after he was struck by a car while walking his bike across a street in the north core.

Paramedics and police were called just before 9 a.m. to the intersection of Algoma Street and Pearl Street.

Police said the 13-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after a car, which was eastbound on Pearl Street, entered the intersection and hit him.

A 70-year-old  woman was charged with failing to yield.

The boy was released from hospital after treatment.
