A 55-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing sexual assault charges after the parent of an intellectually-disabled adult male called police.

Police said they received a complaint Thursday about an incident on May 14 involving a man who is known to the victim.

Ronald John Fossum is charged with sexual assault, breach of probation and failure to comply with an undertaking. He’s in custody and faces a court date of Tuesday, May 27.

In a news release, police said Fossum has been convicted of past sexual offences, and is still before the courts for charges laid last year regarding alleged historic sexual assaults involving four minors.
