Robber with hatchet holds up Mac's store

A masked man armed with a hatchet walked into the Mac's convenience store at Walsh and Waterloo on Wednesday morning and got away with cash. No one was hurt in the robbery.

Robber got away with a "little bit" of cash this morning

Thunder Bay police are using security camera video to try to identify the man who robbed a convenience store this morning.

It happened just after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mac's store and gas bar at Waterloo and Walsh Streets.

The robber carried a hatchet and demanded money from the clerk. Police say the employee handed over what they describe as  "a very little bit" of cash.

Surveillance video shows the man wore a ski mask. 

Police describe the robber as 18 to 25 years old, and about five feet nine inches tall with a slender build and long black hair.
