A man robbed an Arthur-Street hotel early Sunday morning armed with a knife and a 'chemical agent' which he sprayed at a staff member, according to Thunder Bay police.

At about 1:30 a.m., "a lone male suspect entered the hotel armed with a knife and then proceeded to spray one of the staff members [with] a chemical agent and then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money," a police news release said.

The staff member was working at the desk of the hotel and police say he or she received minor injuries related to the spray.

Police are looking for a tall, thin man wearing a black sweater, grey jogging pants, baseball cap and white runners.
