Police have arrested a man in connection with a homicide on Thunder Bay's south side.

Shawn Joseph Henderson, 35, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Travis Cutfeet, also known as Travis Beardy, police said Thursday.

Police allege Henderson stabbed Cutfeet on May Street late Wednesday afternoon.  

The area near May and Violet Streets was sealed off Wednesday evening after police and other emergency personnel answered a 911 call. Despite efforts of emergency responders, Cutfeet died at the scene. 

Henderson was arrested later that evening.

He remains in custody pending a court appearance on May 9.

Police said the victim and the acccused were known to each other.
