Police ID victim, accused in 1st homicide of 2014
Thunder Bay police have identified the victim of the city's first homicide of 2014, as well as the woman accused of the crime.
Priscilla Thomas, 38, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jeffrey Munroe, 35.
Thomas appeared in court via video on Sunday.
She remains in custody.
Police continue to investigate
Police were called to assist an ambulance in the 700 block of the Kingsway, on Saturday morning.
They found a man in "severe medical distress," according to a police news release.
An ambulance took him to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A 38-year-old woman who was "known to the [victim]" was taken into custody, police said.
The Thunder Bay Police Service's criminal investigations and domestic violence unit continues to investigate.
