Police continue to search a wooded area of Marathon, Ont. for a suspect that may be armed following a Sunday dispute.
Specialized police units, including the Emergency Response Team and canine unit, continue to search for Bobby Charbonneau, 26, who may be armed and remains at large.
On Monday a tactical and rescue unit from southern Ontario was called to assist in the search.
“Because [Charbonneau] was at the time, possibly barricaded in the home with a rifle, [and they] respond to those types of calls,” OPP Const. Peter Bertin said. “They are trained in those types of scenarios to make entrance into these homes if the person is possibly barricaded within a home with a weapon.”
Bertin said the focus of the search turned to near the man’s home where he was last seen walking into the bush.
OPP are seeking the public's help into sharing any information on his whereabouts and to keep a lookout.
It's been cold and wet in the area since the suspect has been at large, but Bertin said, "How well this person could fend for himself out in a wooded area, I couldn't say."
