Patrick Quessy-Briere named as victim in Hwy 11 crash

Ontario Provincial Police in Hearst have released the name of the victim in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 11, about 75 kilometres west of Hearst, that happened around noon on Sunday.

Police report that 24-year-old Patrick Quessy-Briere of Thunder Bay died after his eastbound pick-up truck crossed the centre line, sideswiped an oncoming tractor trailer, and collided head-on with another tractor trailer.

Quessy-Briere was pronounced dead at the scene. His female passenger was taken to hospital in Hearst with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Highway 11 was closed from Longlac, east to Highway 631 on Sunday, from about 1-10 p.m.
