Work resumed at the Lac Des Iles mine north of Thunder Bay about 18 hours after the accident that killed a 38-year-old miner.

North American Palladium has identified the man killed Thursday at its Lac Des Iles mine, north of Thunder Bay, as 38-year-old Pascal Goulet.

The company said Goulet died after being struck by a piece of ore while he was outside of the loader he was operating underground.

In an email to media on Monday, the company said Goulet is survived by his wife and two daughters.

The accident is still under investigation.

The mine has resumed operations after being shut down for about 18 hours after the accident.
