OPP identify Thunder Bay man missing at MacKenzie River
OPP have identified the man who disappeared after diving into the MacKenzie River on Wednesday afternoon.
26-year-old Larry Larivee of Thunder Bay dove into the river from a rock ledge and did not resurface.
OPP said he was swimming with four co-workers when the incident took place.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, North West Region Emergency Response Team and a helicopter are on the scene.
Divers entered the water near the incident site on Friday, but police said they were avoiding areas of the fast-flowing river that are considered too dangerous.
