Nunavut team 'amazed' during Greenstone dream trip
The team of young hockey players from Whale Cove, Nunavut, still has some sights to take in and more games to play in Greenstone.
The group is led by their coach Andrew McFarlane, but Cecile Panika has come along to support her own boys who are on the team.
She said, although they love hockey, the journey to the south has left some strong impressions among all the youths from Whale Cove.
“While we were in the train they would just yell out, just yell, when they saw a lot of trees, and moose,” Panika said.
“They were so amazed about the scenery, and more cars, and hardly any snow on the road.”
Panika says at this time of year, everyone travels by snowmobile back home.
Next week the boys from Nunavut move on to Toronto.
