Murder charge for 21-year-old in Kasabonika Lake
One woman is dead and another faces a murder charge, following an incident in Kasabonika Lake First Nation.
Nishnawbe-Aski Police officers responded to a report of an altercation at about 10 p.m. on Sunday.
They arrived to discover a woman had been taken for medical treatment but succumbed to her injuries.
The Ontario Provincial Police were then called in to assist with the investigation.
Police say 21-year-old Clarissa Anderson was charged with second degree murder and will appear in court in Kenora on Friday.
The cause of death of the victim, 20-year-old Courtney Mamakeesic, is not being released.
