A Thunder Bay court has handed down its verdict for a man charged in a drug-trafficking and money-laundering case from five years ago.

At that time, police had found drugs and more than $1 million in cash at a Mapleward Road property.

The 48-year-old accused, Marcel Breton, looked relatively relaxed as he listened to the decision from Justice Terrence Platana in Superior court Friday morning.

The judge told Breton he had "no doubts" in respect to the verdict he had arrived at.

Justice Platana then announced he found Breton guilty of a long list of drug and money laundering charges.

Platana then made a direct plea to him to find a lawyer to represent him during sentencing, as Breton had handled his own case during the trial.

Breton then stood up and said a Thunder Bay lawyer had offered his services.

The sentencing date is Oct. 6.
