Man pinned under vehicle in rollover on Chippewa Road

One man was sent to hospital early Wednesday morning after a vehicle rolled over on Chippewa Road on Fort William First Nation.

One man was sent to hospital early Wednesday morning after a vehicle rolled over on Chippewa Road on Fort William First Nation.

Emergency officials were called just before 6 a.m. to a single vehicle rollover near the intersection of Chippewa Road and Mountain Road.

The Thunder Bay Fire Service said crews had to extricate the man, who was pinned under the vehicle after being thrown from it.

Another man in the vehicle was able to get out before help arrived.

Thunder Bay Police say there were no serious injuries resulting from the incident.

Thunder Bay Police closed Chippewa Road at Highway 61 Wednesday for about 3 hours as part of their investigation.
