Thunder Bay police say a 46-year-old man is dead following an alleged stabbing at 122 Cumberland Street South around 8 a.m. today.

The man, whose name will not be released until next of kin are notified, was pronounced dead at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre a short time later, police said.

Two people were taken into custody at the residence, police reported, and charges are pending.

Residents of Andras Court said police and emergency service vehicles came to the north-side housing complex on Cumberland shortly after 8 a.m.

"Several police cars and ambulances [pulled] up and they brought a guy out on a stretcher and two other people out in handcuffs," said Darlene Coultis, who lives in the building.

"[There was] blood in the hallways and the doorway."
