Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 30-year-old man from Barrie after investigating a head-on collision that happened near Terrace Bay just after 10 p.m. on August 21.

Police said the man was driving eastbound on Highway 17 in a construction zone when his Honda Civic collided with a westbound Mercedes sport utility vehicle.

In a news release issued Saturday, the OPP said they have charged him with failure to share the roadway under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police said the collision sent both drivers and a passenger to hospital and closed a section of Highway 17 for about two hours.
