Fire crews will begin their investigation today into a fire that severely damaged a home in Thunder Bay Wednesday night.

Firefighters arrived at the fire on Machar Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. and saw flames in the living room and at the front door. Five fire trucks and 22 firefighters were called to the scene.

The fire service said the blaze was brought under control "in short order."

No one was in the house at the time and no one was injured. It’s reported there was significant fire damage on the first floor and smoke damage on the second floor.
