A fire that broke out early Saturday morning at this Dawson Road home in Thunder Bay is not considered by officials to be suspicious.

A house on Dawson Road in rural Thunder Bay was destroyed by fire on the weekend.

The Thunder Bay Fire Service said a call came in just after 1 a.m. Saturday about a fire in a home just across from the old Dawson Road truck stop near Government Road.

The first fire crew to arrive found heavy fire and smoke conditions and called for a second alarm.

After a brief attempt to fight the fire from the inside, firefighters determined it could only be fought from outside.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

The fire service said the home is unsafe to enter, so investigators haven't been able to determine the cause of the blaze, however it is not considered suspicious.
