Thunder Bay police say officers had a busy overnight shift on Saturday, but fast food played a role in two significant arrests.

At about 1:40 a.m., police found a driver sleeping in his vehicle in a fast food drive-thru on the city's south side. In a news release, police said the 55-year-old man was impaired, and suspected of being involved in an earlier hit-and-run in the 1000 block of Gore Street W. The man was scheduled to appear in court on Sunday, facing a variety of charges.

Then around 3:20 a.m., police responded to a burglary at a north side recreation centre. They said upon arrival, officers found a 26-year-old man "helping himself" to some onion rings. That suspect was also scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
